Native American Radio Stations:
This format refers to stations that are operated by and/or
serve the interests of Native American peoples. Typically,
these are community radio stations that serve one or more local indegenous populations.
These stations often carry new and public affairs programs that are targeted
towards the local indegenous community.
Stations might play traditional indigenous music, or they might play
popular music, such as Rock or Country. Music from contemporary indegenous artists might
be aired as well. Usually, at least some of the content is in one or more Native
American languages, such as Navaho, Ojibwe, Blackfoot or Cree.
